A smarter approach to agent orchestration
The Tidal agent for Windows enables centralized automation for physical servers, virtual machines and cloud-based Windows instances. Organizations running thousands of Windows systems can deploy this agent to consolidate scheduling, improve monitoring and reduce reliance on manual intervention.
This no-code agent extends automation to complex environments and helps manage resource pools across your enterprise.
What the agent enables
Once installed on the target, the Windows agent serves as an extension of the Tidal Master. It can:
- Execute jobs or scripts remotely
- Monitor execution status and log results
- Support on-premises and cloud-based Windows systems
- Trigger actions in response to events or system conditions
Expanded compatibility
The agent supports a wide variety of versions of the Windows server — far too many to list here.
Improved visibility
Tidal’s file watcher feature detects the arrival or change of a file and automatically launches dependent jobs. This supports real-time responsiveness in workflows.
Integrated process and resource management
Tidal allows you to assign jobs to agent pools based on availability or capacity. With built-in load balancing, it’s easy to assign work in real time to the resource best suited to process it.
How It Works
Tidal uses agents to run jobs on the platforms where they need to run.
- Tidal Master maintains the job schedule
- Windows agents run on target machines and listen for instructions
- When a job is triggered, the Tidal Master sends the command to the relevant agent
- The agent executes the job, monitors it and returns logs and exit codes
- Agents can also monitor for file dependencies and report file event triggers to initiate the next steps in a workflow
Tidal supports agents for these environments:
- Windows (.NET)
- Unix/Linux
- Java-based systems
- z/OS
- OpenVMS
- Himalaya
